Getting dentures is a process that requires several steps. The first step is for our team to examine the patient's teeth and determine their oral health status. This includes taking x-rays to make sure there are no underlying issues with the bones. We may also recommend additional procedures such as removing excess sagging tissue or remodeling the bone for a better-fitting denture.
After this, we will extract any necessary teeth and may recommend temporary dentures to help ease the transition period. The next step is to cover the denture by placing the model with the dentures in the lower flask and securing it with plaster. The denture is then cured under pressure until the correct hardness is achieved, deflated, and cleaned of all the plaster before it is ready for finishing. In this article, we will discuss in detail each of these four steps in getting dentures.
